2024 Three Weekend Kids Camp
**TBA with snow This three week class is available currently for kids ages 7 to 12. They will meet at Detroit Mountain and ski on the Nordic ski trails there. We will be teaching classic technique and can accommodate all skill levels from never skied to experienced skier.

Camp Info
This three week class is available currently for kids ages 7 to 12. They will meet at Detroit Mountain and ski on the Nordic ski trails there. We will be teaching classic technique with an eye towards giving them the skills to easily skate ski later. Limited skis are available for use with signup; we will do our best to get them into a close size but may not be exact.
**For kids older than 12 we encourage them to join the middle school ski program after school and we aren’t setup this year for kids younger than 7. We found that the 2.5 hour format was too long for them.
DATES: Three Sundays in January: **TBA WITH SNOW**
January 28th there will be a ski event the kids can take part in at Tamarac refuge using their skills built up over the three week class.
TIMES: are 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm.
COST: $50 per child/ Max of $100 per family. This includes use of skis while at practice. Skis are to remain at DMRA and may not be taken home during the week.
We will meet at the Nordic building at DMRA (not the main ski lodge) each Sunday for the ski school. This is in the back corner of the parking lot at the xc ski/bike trailheads.
REGISTRATION LIMITS: Once we get to 25 skiers registered, we will go to a waitlist.
PARENT SKI: Parents, we want you to learn too! If you are interested in coming along AND participating (yes, you will fall down) please feel free to join us. You’ll learn too!
VOLUNTEERS: This is an entirely volunteer run program. All proceeds go towards buying more skis for next year! We need parents to help out- regardless of ski skill! (You must have skis on to be on the trail) We need both extra adults with each group, and also a parent back at the building in case someone is having an extra rough day and doesn’t want to stay with their group.

Groups will leave to go on the trails at 1:30, so please arrive early and be ready to go at 1:30. More information on clothing requirements and suggestions as well as weather policies will be sent out to registered participants.
Head Coach: Nikki Caulfield. She has coached for Minnesota Youth Ski League for 10 years and on the Detroit Lakes High School Nordic Ski team for 15 years.
